Our children wear school uniform. It is practical and gives the children a feeling of being part of their school. Apart from looking smart, it is very useful when our children are off the school site as it makes them easily identifiable to staff and parent helpers.
What a child wears to school reflects his/her learning. It also portrays the school’s ethos and shared positive values. We have a smart but simple uniform that we encourage all pupils to wear:
|Grey trousers||Grey skirt, pinafore dress or trousers|
|Light blue or white shirt or polo shirt||Light blue or white polo shirt|
|Navy blue pullover or fleece||Navy blue pullover, fleece or cardigan|
|Please note that 'blue' does not include denim|
In summer girls can wear a blue and white checked traditional short sleeved summer dress.
Children should wear ordinary black school shoes as part of the uniform. Trainers are not allowed. For safety reasons jewellery, with the exception of a watch, is not allowed. For pierced ears a small ear stud is permitted. These have to be removed or covered up for swimming and physical education.
Navy blue sweatshirts and white PE shirts with the school logo are available from Just School Wear but are not compulsory.
All children’s clothing should be clearly labelled.
Children should also be equipped for PE and Games where a change of clothing is necessary. This constitutes plimsolls, white T-shirt and navy shorts. A change of socks is also recommended for indoor PE.
For outside games the appropriate kit should be used: plain white tops, black or navy blue tracksuits and trainers are acceptable. All games equipment should be carried in a PE bag, named, with a hanging loop. Large bags are not allowed due to lack of cloakroom space.
