Click HereIn the event of a school closure, for example due to extreme weather, the school will use the platform ClassDojo to set work. Work will be set on the second day of a school closure; this gives staff time to plan, organise and post work for the children. On the first day of a school closure, we advise the children practise their spellings, use Times Tables Rock Stars and read.
What is ClassDojo?
ClassDojo is a free, web based resource which allows schools and families to connect together to share photographs, videos, learning resources, children’s successes and important messages or reminders in a safe and secure online environment. Parents can also have a private conversation about their child with the class teacher.
ClassDojo works on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire and on any computer or laptop.
What does ClassDojo look like?
ClassDojo works in a similar way to social media. It connects teachers and parents/children with a newsfeed (similar to Facebook or Twitter). The newsfeed is called the Class Story and is where all adults (staff and parents) and children can see any relevant messages, learning resources or videos for their year group.
How is work set on ClassDojo?
Resources that would be used within the classroom to support learning will be added to the Class Story. Whatever device you use ClassDojo on, the latest resource will be at the top. The resources may be a PDF, PowerPoint, video or a text of information. These resources can be viewed (and printed if necessary) from the adult account and the child account.
How does my child submit their work?
Each child has their own ‘portfolio.’ This is an online folder where any photographs, videos or work they submit will be kept. These are private. The only people who will be able to see these are the parent of the child, the child and staff member(s) who set the work. Once submitted to the virtual folder, staff will approve the work and give the child any comments/feedback or points as necessary.
