Schools’ Football Week - February 2020

Arno Vale pupils joined schools from around the country to support National Schools’ Football Week, which took place from 3rd to 7th February 2020. Over 120 pupils participated in the schools intra-school football tournaments involving both experienced and emerging players. The tournaments showcased some excellent talent and dedication. Congratulations to everyone who participated and many thanks to our Young Leaders who did an excellent job of running the Y3/4 tournament.

Congratulations to our year 5/6 boys football team, who came 2nd in the Gedling tournament! They were all fantastic and displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. Well done boys! We've got an exciting season ahead.

Our Team of the Year and the Gedling Champions! We are so incredibly proud of you boys! Thank you for being amazing all year (on the pitch and off)

This week 17 of our year 6 boys competed in a football tournament. They displayed excellent sportsmanship, skills and teamwork and one of our teams even won the tournament! Well done boys!

We are extremely proud of our two football teams, both of which have gone through the season undefeated and, as a result, have qualified for the knock out stages of the competition.  The girls team are defending champions and will be hoping to retain that title, whilst the boys team look to have a great chance of going all the way after some breathtaking displays.  The final league tables and the quarter-final schedules can be seen below.

More success for the school football teams!

Our Y5/6 girls team played in a tournament on Monday 1st October and finished third.  The team won three and drew one of their four matches and only lost on penalties in the semi-final.  Miriam was the top-scorer and all of the girls were a credit to the school.

The following evening, the boys team won their competition and earned a place in the Nottinghamshire County Final.  The boys won four and drew one of their five matches and beat Ernehale 3-1 in the final.  As always, the boys played with superb attitudes and sportsmanship.

Both teams will also be competing in a Gedling league this season.

Year 4/5 Gelding Champions! Congratulations boys- what a fantastic team performance!
