AVA Triple Challenge Cup

Arnold Mill travelled to Arno Vale for the first event. Once the warm up was complete it was time for the competition name to be announced along with input behind the idea  of the Triple Challenge Cup - to give pupils at both schools the opportunity to compete at inter school level whilst forming a tradition that will hopefully last forever. The teams were briefed on the expectations of the afternoon and moving forward, with the emphasis being on playing fair, showing respect to all and having fun.

After a few team photos it was time to begin, the competition was divided into 4 games with each 10 minutes long. The score would return to 0-0 at the start of the next quarter but the winning team would be decided on the total points scored in the 40 minutes. All the games were really close but it was Arno Vale that came out on top winning 22-18.

They now take a 1-0 lead in the cup with the second challenge,  a Year 3/4 handball festival, due in the spring term.

A huge well done to all the players; the game was played in the right manner and all players fully enjoyed the afternoon.

Please view the photos of the afternoon below.

Round 2: Year 4 Lacrosse

Round 2: Year 4 Lacrosse 1
The winners of the second part of the AvA Triple Challenge Cup were Arnold Mill.  That means that the third round (a B-Team football match) will be the decider.

Round 3: Y4/5 Football

Round 3: Y4/5 Football 1

The winners of the third part of the AvA Triple Challenge Cup were Arnold Mill.  That means that Arnold Mill are the first ever winners of the AvA Triple Challenge Cup (2-1).  This decider was an extremely competitive game and went all the way to a penalty shootout.

All three competitions have been played in a tremendous spirit, with a mutual respect between the schools clear to see.

Arnold Mill will aim to defend their title in the new academic year.

Congratulations!
